Every property brings different opportunities and challenges. We would like to share the insight of the development with you. 
This property was refurbished on behalf of our Client. We were contracted to design the interior and supervise the refurbishment. It was one bedroom flat, located on the twelfth floor in the centre of Bristol. The refurbishment took approximately 4 months. The plan was to have the property rented out after the renovation was completed 
Scope of refurbishment & challenges 
The refurbishment included installation of new floors/carpets, plastering where needed, painting, fitting new doors, new kitchen and bathroom. In theory it looks like a stright forward renovation, but along the process we have encountered a number of issues: 
1. As it was block of flats, the builder was restricted to work only within specific hours, which delayed the project 
2. To do any plumbing-related work we had to turn off the water mains for the building, as the valve in the flat was not working 
3. Delivering bulky items prooved to be difficult, as some of them didn't fit in the elevator (the flat was on the 12th floor!) 
4. It was impossible to arrange for a skip, as there was no space to place it. The builders had to dispose of all the building waste using his van 
Despite the issues the project was fully delivered before the end of the year 2020.
